ABOUT US

New Wave erotica is a burgeoning cross-over genre, where films containing X rated content are increasingly being given cinematic releases, under an R classification worldwide. Films with this aesthetic include Romance, Intimacy, Anatomy of Hell, 9 Songs and Shortbus. More extreme versions of New Wave erotica are films such as Base Moi and Ken Park.

HUNGRY FILMS will be producing similar styles of films, with an emphasis on creating dynamic erotica. Hardcore content will be mixed in with quality storylines in a variety of styles and genres - from historical erotica, contemporary erotic comedy (ero-romcom!), sensual period dramas, to porn noir.

WHO WE ARE

DIRECTOR | ANNA BROWNFIELD

Anna Brownfield

Education: Bachelor of Arts (Media Arts) RMIT (majors film & video). Honours in visual communication (Media Arts) RMIT, Certificate IV Final Cut Pro and After Effects, Apple Accredited Final Cut Pro Trainer, AFTRS.

The originality of Anna Brownfield's work has gained extensive media attention and she has been interviewed on numerous radio and television programs. Anna has appeared on ABC TV's 'Mondo Thingo', and 'The 10.30 Slot'. She has also spoken on radio stations such as JJJ, RRR, and ABC radio. Articles about her work have appeared in Australian media such as Cleo, Cosmo, IF magazine, Desktop magazine, The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, and numerous street press publications. A video web story can be found on The Age and Sydney Morning Herald websites. Anna's work has screened at numerous festivals, both in Australia and overseas, including:

  • International Women's Conference 1995, Beijing, China

  • WOW Film Festival, Sydney, Australia

  • Westspace Artist's Gallery, Melbourne, Australia

  • Artrage, Perth, Western Australia

Most recently Anna's film 'The Money Shot' was chosen to close the Melbourne Underground Film Festival (MUFF). She cleaned up the MUFF awards winning Best Director, Best Screenplay, and the film won Best Male Lead.

For Anna, moving into erotica has been a natural progression. As the majority of product is from a male perspective, she sees the potential to tap into a growing market of making non-formulaic erotica that is designed to stimulate and arouse women from a truly female perspective. And so HUNGRY FILMS was created.

PRODUCER | AER AGREY

aer

Aer has long had a passion for all things sexual and particularly the
portrayal of sex on screen. Since 2000 she has run a company
experimenting with erotic installation events and media productions.
Working as an editor in film and as a DVD author, Aer has edited and
authored over 100 adult titles distributed throughout the Antipodes
for a range of different international production houses including
Private, Evil Empire, Vivid, Wicked, etc. Along with this immersion
within the conventional porn industry she has extensively researched
the sex industry focusing on pornography, both academically and
professionally.

HUNGRY FILMS was born from her dissatisfaction with the quality of
most of the conventional generic porn in the market place. Taking her
experience in filmmaking and her solid commercial sense and combining
it with her passion to create erotic films has driven her to create a
company focused on creating the kind of porn she would like to watch.

Aer's intention is to make high-quality erotic films free of exploitation within the new crossover genre of New Wave Erotica. Films which are both ethical and moral – REAL FILMS incorporating explicit sex, not simply pornography.

Through the creation of these films she hopes to widen society's
sensual palate to include more than just a predominantly male point of
view. She believes strongly in pornography as an art form and sees a
huge gap in the market for a new kind of film, born of female sexuality and eroticism and a strong sense of artistic integrity.
